About Lacus Vocem

Lacus Vocem is an adult community choir based in Provo, Utah, bringing people together through a shared love of singing. Whether you've been performing for years or are returning to choir after a long break, you'll find a welcoming community where your voice matters.

Founded in 2022 as an alumni choir for Provo High School, Lacus Vocem has grown into an open-enrollment choir for adults (18+) from all backgrounds and experience levels. Our members now include alumni, parents, neighbors, students, retirees, and music lovers who simply enjoy making music together.

We are committed to artistic excellence while never losing sight of the joy that comes from singing together. At Lacus Vocem, rehearsals are filled with laughter, learning, and a shared commitment to creating something greater than ourselves. Every concert is an opportunity to tell meaningful stories, celebrate our community, and share the gift of music with others.

Kenny Wiser, Artistic Director

Kenny Wiser is the Director of Choirs at Provo High School in Provo, Utah, where he has taught for the past 15 years. He directs the school's choral program and teaches AP Music Theory and guitar. Under his leadership, the Provo High Choirs have performed at Carnegie Hall and have been featured ensembles at the Utah Music Educators Association (UMEA) and Utah chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) conferences. His ensembles consistently earn superior ratings at state festivals and invitational competitions while fostering a culture of artistry, collaboration, and belonging. A two-time recipient of the Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching, Kenny is also committed to mentoring the next generation of music educators and regularly mentors student teachers from local universities.
Kenny earned both his Master of Music in Choral Conducting (2017) and Bachelor of Music in Secondary Choral Music Education (2011) from Brigham Young University, where he served as graduate assistant for the renowned BYU Men's Chorus.
Dedicated to building meaningful musical communities, Kenny served for ten years as Assistant Director of the Saltaires Chorus before co-founding Lacus Vocem with his wife, Jamie, in 2022, where he continues to serve as Artistic Director. He is an active guest conductor, clinician, adjudicator, and presenter, having worked with honor choirs and youth festivals throughout the western United States. His guest conducting credits include the Barbershop Harmony Society's Next Generation Varsity Honors Chorus at the 2019 International Convention, the UMEA Men's Honor Choir, Savior of the World in Salt Lake City, the Priesthood Session Choir for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and BYU's SummerFest Choir. He has served as a guest clinician in Utah and New Mexico, guest conductor for Youth in Harmony events in Utah and Arizona, presented at UMEA conferences, and taught on the faculty of Harmony University in Nashville, Tennessee.
An accomplished barbershop musician, Kenny is a Rocky Mountain District Quartet Champion and has appeared on the Barbershop Harmony Society International Contest stage multiple times. His passion for close harmony and vocal artistry continues to shape his work as a conductor, educator, and performer.Kenny lives in Orem, Utah, with his wife, Jamie, and their five children. In addition to his work as an educator and conductor, he maintains a private voice studio and is actively involved in the music ministry of his local church congregation. Whether in the classroom, the rehearsal hall, or the concert stage, Kenny believes that the greatest purpose of music is to build people as much as performances.

Brittany vom Lehn, Assistant Director

Brittany vom Lehn was named Lacus Vocem’s assistant director in 2024 and is a recent choral conducting master’s student at Brigham Young University. She is a graduate assistant to BYU’s Concert Choir (Fall 2026) and Women’s Chorus (Winter 2027). Additionally, she directs and arranges for Cantare Sociale, a women’s ensemble she founded in 2016. She also currently serves as choir director for the Provo West Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Brittany believes choral communities have the ability to better our world, and has committed to building such communities. In 2011, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. She was a voice student of Grammy Award-winner Faith Esham, and sang in acclaimed choirs under the direction of Joe Miller, Joseph Flummerfelt, Andrew Megill, James Jordan, and Sun Min Lee. As a conductor, Brittany directed a range of choirs throughout the state of New Jersey for churches and schools - including teaching vocal music for the Paterson Public School District.

As an alto, Brittany has performed choral works at the Lincoln Center with the New York Philharmonic on several occasions. She has also sung with world renowned orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Staatskapelle Berlin at Carnegie Hall. As a member of Westminster Choir, she sang for the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, SC, headlined at the ACDA Central Division Convention, and sang for the album Flower of Beauty. Locally, Brittany has sung in General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and for the Provo City Center Temple dedication.
Brittany recently was guest conductor for BYU’s Musicians’ SummerFestival Choir. She resides in Provo, Utah with her husband, Christian, and their four amazing kids.
